HARRY VAN GUNDY DIES
Harry Van Gundy, native of Neosho Rapids who has been living atthe Riverside Trailer Court, ,South Avenue and Lawrence Street, diedunexpectedly Wednesday afternoon while working with a Kansas Powercrew on Eigth Avenue between Constitution and Congress Streets. it isbelieved a heart attack caused his death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in theRoberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sherman E.Frederick, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Burial will be inMout Hope Cemetery, Neosho Rapids.
Mr. Van Gundy was born March 16, 1909 at Neosho Rapids, a son ofMrs Anna Getner Van Gundy and the late Newman Van Gundy. He marriedClarice Bentley at Clovis, N.M. March 12, 1943. He is survived by hiswife of the home; his mother, Mrs. Anna Van Gundy, Neosho Rapids; twobrothers Bert Van Gundy, Lebo, and Stanley Van Gundy, Neosho Rapids;two sisters, Mrs. Jess Hartenbower, Neosho Rapids; Mrs. Ed McCall,Reading. He was a veteran of World War II and member of the Veteransof Foreign Wars.
