"Margaret was the daughter of Charles Grogan and Agnes (Nancy) Burney.Her brothers, Alexander and James Grugan raised families in GlenUnion, Clinton, Pennsylvania. Her father, Charles, died young in thewinter of 1790-1791 and his widow remarried to Henry Van Gundy.Charles was a Revolutionary War Veteran from Lancaster County andmoved into the Buffalo Valley after the war. The surname was changedto Grugan from Grogan after his death, supposedly because it wassimply misspelled at some point while the children were still young.She married Joseph Mason about 1803 and they became the progenitors ofthe Mason-Grugan lines in Cameron County."
