ESTHER M DAILEY
The funeral for Mrs. John C. Dailey, 325 East St, who died Fridayevening at Newman Hospital, will be held in the Robert-Blue-BarnettChapel Tuesday at 1:30 P.M., conducted by Gordon Arb of Kingdom Hallof Jehovah's Witnesses. Buriel will be in Chicago Mound Cemetery.Memorials are suggested for the Flint Hills Hearing Association, sentin care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Dailey, the former Esther M. Gordon, was born July 30, 1903in Neosho Rapids, to Robert H. and Blanche Farmer Gordon. She livedall of her life in Lyon County and was one of the first "HarveyGirls."
She worked at the Santa Fe's Harvey House in Emporia. She servedseveral years on the Junction District 28 school board at NeoshoRapids. She married John C. Dailey on Dec. 6, 1922, in Emporia, andhe died Feb 10, 1977. Four brothers, one sister and two grandchildrenalso died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Verl L. Dailey of Garland, Tex.; twodaughter Thelma Crawford, 118 South Washington St., and MaxineMcKinnis of Hazelwood, Mo.; two sisters, Irene Royer and Dora Strohlof Yucca Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kristi Bremerkamp, JohnR. Crawford, John A. Dailey, Wayne M. Dailey and Mark Dailey, and 9great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dailey was a Jehovah's Witness.
