Charles Hollonbeck
Graveside services with military rites for Charles E. (Bus)Hollonbeck, 86, of Lovington, were held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday inGreenhill Cemetery in Sullivan with the McMullin-Young Funeral Home inSullivan in charge of arrangements.
The former Sullivan resident died at 8:10 p.m, Wednesday, Sept. 18,2002 in Sullivan Health Care Center.
Born Jan. 24, 1916 in Moultrie County, he was a son of Art and MabelPurvis Hollonbeck. He was a member of the army during World War II andretired from Caterpillar in Decatur. He was a member of the LovingtonChristian Church, American Legion Post #68 and the George A. SentelMasonic Lodge #764, both in Sullivan. He married Dorothy H. Blackwellin 1941, and she preceded him in death in 1981. He then married MaryCochran Carr in 1982, and she preceded him in death in 1991.
He is survivied by a son Steve Hollonbeck and his wife Cheryl ofAlbuquerque, NM; daughter Mary Beth Massey and husband Greg ofLovington; brother Dwight Hollonbeck of Naperville; sisters ColleenJividen of Galena, Ruth Craig of Marrietta, Cal. and Sadie Booker ofSullivan; six grandchildren and special friend LaVerne Davis ofLovington.
Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
