Michael had a ferry that went across the Ocoee River and he farmed hisl and near the ferry. In Polk Co., TN not far from the town of BentonCo. T N. After his first wife died he then Married Lucy AbsherWhitson. She h ad chidren by a previous marriage. Her daughter, Nancy,had children wi th a son of Michael called Joseph Martin Hildebrand.Nancy and Joseph h ad two children one was Michael, born in 1842 andthe other was Elizabe th born in 1847 in Polk Co., East TN. Nancy AnnWhitson and Joseph Mart in Hildebrand never married. Michel lost hisland and house to the Fede ral Government because he was married to anIndian. He bought it back f rom the Federal Gov.and lived there tillhe moved to Indian Territory a bout 1859 and died there in 1863.He andhis first wife Nancy Martin had 1 2 children. They were as follows:
