"Tunie Collins of Casner, who with her grandmother, had been visitingf riends here for the past six weeks, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Wi lson Murphy Tuesday evening June 20th after and illness of twoweeks wi th appendicitis. Tunie was born in Hugo and always lived hereuntil two y ears ago when she moved with her relatives to Casner. Shewas a bright a nd intelligent child, whom everyone loved and everything that medical a id and loving hands could do to relieve thelittle sufferer Was done. H er physician hardly left her bed sidenight or day and did every thing i n his power to alleviate theintense pain, but no avail. She lingered t ill the evening of hertenth birthday, when her sweet little spirit too k it flight to Godwho gave it.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church the followingWedne sday Morning at 10 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Greer, whopreach ed the most touching comforting sermon. The church was verybeautifully a nd appropriately decorated for the occasion and thebeautiful white cas ket was literally hidden beneath the lovely floralofferings, which wer e deposited by her little school mates and themembers of the junior le ague.
A long procession fully followed the remains of the lovely littlegirl t o her last resting place in the Union Cemetery near Oakland,where she s leeps beside her mother, who proceeded here to herheavenly home three y ears ago."
