Court having met agreeable to adjournment on Tuesday the 21st day ofAp ril 1818.
Ambrows Arthur and Nathaniel Rochester of Knox County is and arehereby
appointed commissioners to fix upon the seat of Justice of Whitleycoun ty and they are hereby authorized and requested by the court toproceed t o the establishment of the same at the earliest periodconvenient for t hem to do so according to law. and it is furthurordered by the Court t hat the said commissioners above named do meetat the house of Samuel C ox (the present place of holding said Court)on the 2d Monday in May ne xt and from thence proceed to theestablishment of said seat of Justice a s aforesd.

We the commissioners appointed by the Worshipped court of sd county ino bedience to an order of sd court and an act of the general assemblyof t he commonwealth of Kentucky met at the house of Samuel Cox in sdcounty o n the day and date first above written for the purpose ofpointing out t he most Elligible and centereal spot in sd county forthe purpose of Er ecting the public buildings thereon being firstsworn and directing our v iews alone to that of a public goodindependant of personal or partial i nterest after mature deliberationhad on the subject do unanimously agr ee & point out the "south Bankof Cumberland River between the house wh ere Samuel Cox now lives insd county and a cabbin occupied at this tim e by Benjamin Parson for aGrocery as the Spot for the purpose above
