Stella May Arthur, 78, Owensburg passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday atD unn Memorial Hospital. Death followed a three month illness. Anative o f Greene County, Mrs. Arthur was born December 27, 1892, thedaughter o f Simeon and Luvica Watkins Brown. She married ClaudeArthur and he pre ceded her in death on April 8, 1954. Survivorsinclude two sons, Pikie A rthur of Hobbieville, Indiana and PeterArthur of Owensburg; two daught ers, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Byers of St.Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Harold (Vio let) Skeen of Route 1, Williams; onesister, Nettie Higar of Worthingto n, Indiana and two brothers, RayBrown and Irvin Brown, both of Greene C ounty. She was a member of theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Sai nts. Last rites wereconducted about 1 p.m. today at the Springville Me thodist Church withBrother Emmett Hollowell, officiating. Burial was i n the SpringvilleMethodist cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under t he direction ofthe Day & Carter Mortuary.
