From the obituary of son William from the Baker Family:
"In what is now called Grugan Township he first saw the light of day,being the first born son of Thomas Bridgens late of LocK Haven, by hisfirst wife, daughter of Henry VanGundy. William's mother dying when hewas only two years old he was left to the care of his Grandmother, butin a short time she too went the way of all the earth. He was thencared for by his uncle, Alex Grugan, until eighteen years of age."
Anna probably died in childbirth as son Henry was born in July.
