Joseph wasborn in KS , Minnie in IA, the girls in OK. Joseph's occupation wasfarmer. In t he same area was the John Powell family, possiblyJoseph's brother?

By census time that year JosephE P owell, 44, and Amanda, also 44, had been married 21 years, thefamily h ad grown to include Nellie, 18, Josie M(able?), 12, Florence,8, and Lo yd E, 7. Birth places were recorded the same as previouscensus but th e last two children were born in KS with parents from OH& IA. Joseph' s occupation had changed to blacksmith. The county wasfull of other P owells.
1/6/1920 Front St, Dewey, Washington Co, OK. Before the next census,t he family had jumped across the county line where the census takerlist ed Joseph Powell, 54, Amanda, 54, and the only child still athome. Loy d E, 16. Joseph was a laborer in a cement plant and rentedthe home. L oyd worked as a laborer at a feed store with the nextdoor neighbor, Fr ed Lasure. On the other side of the Powells wasdaughter Nellie and Ge orge Swank. Several other Powell familieslived in the same county.
5/1930 Same place. At census time that year Joseph was a widower at6 5 years of ge and living with the family of daughter Nellie andGeorge S wank. Joseph had married at age 22. He wa still working asa laborer, p robably still at the cement plant where George worked.
