Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday,April 2, 2 011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev.Mark Sanders o fficiating. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday.Burial will be in D odge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL with militaryrites by V.F.W. Post # 4 325 of Mattoon. Memorials may be given toShelby Christian Church or Il linois Patriot Guard. Mr. Swisher wasborn on March 12, 1926 in Mattoon , IL, the son of Forest H. andSylvia Blanche Whitley Swisher. He was a U .S. Army veteran of WW II.He retired from the Mattoon Post Office in 1 973. He was a member ofShelby Christian Church in Shelbyville and a 50 y ear member of theLawrence Riddle American Legion Post #88 of Mattoon. H e marriedBarbara Jeanne Garrett on July 15, 1946. Surviving are his wi fe,Barbara Jeanne; son, Allen E. (Marayart) Swisher of Torrance, CA; daughters, Dian (Bill) Camic of Shelbyville and Nancy E. (Bill) Zike ofM attoon; brother, Forest Irvin "Red" Swisher of Paris, TN; sister,Lois S chwerdt of Mattoon; five grandchildren, Chanon (Tom)Mongkolthip, Matth ew Swisher, Jenna Camic Shride, Jordan Camic andPhilip Zike; and one g reat grandchild, Aidan Shride. He was precededin death by his parents; b rothers, Floyd Swisher and Alfred "Jr."Whitley; and sisters, Juanita B innion, Bernadine Taylor and RosemarySchwerdt.
