Inthe same d istrict were Harrison and Larcan (Larkin?) Powell families.Larkin was a lso 40-50 years old and down the road from him wasHarrison, age 20-30.

9/26/1850 Militia Dist 986, Paulding Co, GA. In that census werePres ley Powell, 63, with wife Eleanor, 47, Nancy, 18, and Rebecca,12, all b orn in GA He was a farmer with $1500 in real estate. Nextdoor was so n Lewis.

6/27/1860 Dist 1, PO Buchanan, Haralson Co, GA. Before the nextcensu s the family had moved again. Recorded by the census taker werePresle y Powell, 67, Elander, 57, Nancy, 28, Lucinda, 18, and William,13, all b ut William born in GA. He was born in AL and since notlisted with thi s family in 1850, he may have been an orphanedrelative they were raisi ng. Presley was a farmer, his estate wasvalued at $1000/250; Nancy w as a weaver.
