"FRANCIS RICE was born about 1711 probably in Virginia. He may havebee n the grandson of an earlier Francis Rice who died in WarwickCounty, V irginia circa 1698. Francis Rice appears in deed records inHenrico Cou nty, Virginia about 1732, living near Thomas Womack Sr. Hemarried Sara h Womack, daughter of Thomas Womack Sr. and Mary Farley,between 1732 a nd 1734. In 1739, Francis relocated to Amelia County,Virginia and live d in the western section of the county which wassplit off to form Prin ce Edward County in 1754. He died after March1770, when he deeded his e state to his son, Abraham Rice, which alsoincluded land in Charlotte C ounty, Virginia."
