1/13/1920 South Booneville Twp, Yadkin Co, NC. That year at censusti me he was going by Will Collins, age 40. The family had grown andit a ppears he had remarried as his wife was Flora B, age 31. Thechildren w ere: Cabet R, 18, Eula M, 15, Hessie U, 12, Nelson R, 10,Jessie L, 8, G eenie M, 3y 11m, and Mamie 1y 6m. Will was stillfarming on land that h e owned free of mortgage. Son Cabet was alaborer. Neighbors had all c hanged to unfamiliar names.
5/10/1930 Same place. The census taker recorded a large familyliving t here: James W Collins, 51, Flora B, 43, son Robert N, 21,and his brid e Lou G, 22; Jessie L, 18, Gernie N, 14, Mamie P, 11,Ethel J, 9, Will iam R, 6, Annie A, 3y 2m, and James W jr, 3m. Jameswas 21 when he mar ried for the first time, Flora was 23; Robertmarried at 20, Lou at 21. J ames was still farming and owned theresidence but neither he nor any o f the neighbors had a radio. Thetwo older boys were laborers.
