His daughter Mary Polly Money who is buried at Mt. View Baptist churchw as the mother of 3 sons born out of wedlock. The father of thesechildr en is David Collins brother to my Lafayette. I have an obituaryof Sara h Lucinda Collins Ashley that listed one of them as herhalf-brother, t he other two were already deceased. David nevermarried her

10/6/1870 Knobs Twp, PO Janesville, Yadkin Co, NC. Recorded in thatc ensus were David Collins, 35, wife Nancy J, 26, and children, SarahL, 5 , Moses, 2, and David, 6m. Also counted there was Lida Smith,52, "no o ccupation." David was a farmer but had only personalproperty valued a t $100.
6/21/1880 Same place. At census time the family lived next door toli ttle brother Lafayette. David D Collins was a 45 year old farmer,his w ife Nancy J was 38. Their children were Sarah L, 15, Moses, 14,David S , 12, Catherine E, 6, James H, 3, and George W, 10m. Theentire family w as born in NC. Moses worked as a laborer.
6/7/1900 Still there. By census time that year David D Collins was64 , Nancy J was 50, the only children in the house were George, 17,Calvi n, 15, and Caroline, 12. David and Nancy had been married 34years, she h ad given birth to 9 children but only 8 still survived.David was still f arming but renting the land, George and Calvin werefarm laborers.
5/12/1910 Edwards, Wilkes Co, NC. Before the next census the oldcoup le had retired and moved in with son James and Lula. Their ageswere r ecorded as David D, 70, and Nancy J at 55. They had beenmarried 42 y ears, only one of their 9 children was deceased.
