The 6/7/1900 census taker found Elizabeth Newman, 59, as a widowliving i n Clay Twp, Huntingdon Co, PA. She had given birth to 11children, onl y 7 still lived. Children in the house were were Mary,18, and Charley , 16, who worked as a coal miner. Oh the previouspage was brother-in- law Nathan Barnett, also a widower.
By the next census on 4/27/1910 Elizabeth lived with the family ofdaug hter Emma and John Shealer (sp?) in West Lebanon, Lebanon Co, PAbut wa s recorded as 74 years old after having birthed 4 children withonly 3 s till living. Was it really this woman?
If Elizabeth didn't die until 11/1920, where was she in January whenth e census was taken?
