Shortly before the next census on 7/25/1860 Prudence become a widow ata ge 59. She was head of the house at T4 R8, Clay Co, IL, PO Boot,proba bly the same home place. Living with her were Peter M, 22,Mary, 16, G eorge W, 14, Prudence, 11, and Alfred Rodgers, 11.Prudence had proper ty valued at $1500/700, Peter was a farmer withproperty worth $400/100 a nd probably farmed Prudence's land as well.Next door was step-son Cha rles Lough, followed by step-son JohnLough, farther down were two youn g Dewherst families. Step-sonNicholas Lough lived in the same area.
At census time on 1870 Prudence, 70, lived with son George in PixleyTw p, PO Ingraham, Clay Co, IL. Or perhaps George had moved hisfamily in to her home as the neighbors were much the same names fromthe previous c ensus.
If Prudence didn't die until 1883, where was she at census time in1880 ?
