In the Marion County, Ohio 1883 History is:
NELSON L. WOLFE, (Salt Rock Township) farmer, son of Henry R. Wolfe,wa s born in Marion County March 24, 1837, and has lived in Salt RockTown ship since he was thirteen years of age. He was educated in thetownshi p schools. He was drafted into the army in 1862, and served ashort tim e as a soldier in the civil war. March 29, 1866, he wasmarried to Euni ce Matteson, of Wyandot County, Ohio. On attaining hismajority, Mr. Wo lfe had very little financial means, but by industryand good managemen t has become the owner of a fine farm of eightyacres, on which he resi des. He is a member of the F. & A. M., and isa member of and Deacon in t he Church of God."
