Mrs. Ruth Coonrod, 77, life long resident of White county, died at herh ome near Sitka Thursday afternoon, April 28, at 2 o'clock. She hadbeen c onfined to her home by illness for the past four weeks but herconditio n was not critical until last Tuesday when she suffered astroke of par alysis from which she never regained consciousness.
Mrs. Coonrod was born in Monan township in 1871, the daughter of Jamesa nd Elizabeth Pollock. In 1882 she was married to David Coonrod, nowdea d.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Bailey, Danivlle, Ill., Mrs.E dith Evernham, Waverly, Ind., Mrs. Stella Gerard, South Bend, andMrs, I na Englert, Gary: two sons, Guy Coonrod, Liberty township, andHarold C oonrod, South Bend; and a number of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren a nd other relatives. Two children preceded the motherin death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Sitka church Saturdayafternoo n at 2:30 o'clock with the G.A. Stephan funeral home incharge. Burial w as made in the Sitka cemetery.
