I Peter Garlandof y e Isle of Wight County being very sick & weak in boddy, but ofsound & p erfect memory (praise be to Almighty God for ye same. &knowing ye unce rtainty of this life upon earth. & being desirous tosett things in ord er. Doe make this my Last Will & Testament inmanner & form following,t hat is to say,
first & principally I commend my soule to Almighty God my creatorassur edlybeleiving yt I shall receive full pardon & remission of allmy sinn s, & be saved by ye pressious death & merritts of my blessedSavior & R edeemer Christ Jesus, & my boddy to ye earth from whence itwas taken, t o buried in such desent & Christian manner as to my Exer,hereaftername d -- shall be thought most convenient. & as touchingsuch worldly estat e as ye Lord inmercy hath lent me, my will &meaning is that same shall b e employed & bestowed as followshereafter by this my will is expressed . & first I denounce, frustrate& make void all Wills by me formerly ma de. & declare & appoint thismy last will & Testament.
I give & bequeath unto my loving wife Grace Garland all my Cattle &hou sehold goods - - - - -
I doe give &bequeath unto my son Sam'll' Garland two hundred acres ofm y land, to him, & his heires forEver - - - - - - -
I doe give to My son Jno Garland one hundred acres of my land to him,& h is heires for Ever.
I doe give & bequeath, to my three daughters Sarrah, Deborah & Anna yer est of my land being one hundred, fifty seven acres to them & theirhei res for Ever to be equally devided betweene them, Sarrah & Deborahto h ave theirs shares when their husbands named doe dresst yt isWm.Mecone, W illiam Daniell, & I doe appoint my loving Wife, & my sonSamuell my who le Executors to this my Will - - - - - - - - - - -
