Fields has not been verified as Mary's father but he was the onlyPruit t in Bond Co, IL 2 years after she married Elisha there plus thefact t hat one of her sons was named Fields indicates a closerelationship, an other son was named Martin after her brother-in-law.Also Field's child ren were in the same places as the Whitley family.

12/16/1820 Powers Twp, Bond Co, IL. At census time Fields was over45 y ear old with a family consisting of: 1 male under 10, 1 at10-15, 2 fe males under 10, 2 at 10-15, 1 at 26-45. Two people wereengaged in agr iculture. They were the only Pruitts in the county.John Duncan, futur e relative of grandchildren, lived 4 doors down andfarther down was Ge orge and Robert Cole. Several Pruitts were inneighboring Madison Co.
