6/25/1870 Madison Twp, Pickaway Co, OH. At census time William livedn ext door to the Samuel Van Gundy family (Maria's brother). William"Po land" was a 28 year old farmer, wife Maria was 22 and they had 2small c hildren, Clinton, 2, and Emily, 3 months.
6/1/1880 Same place. That year the census taker recorded WilliamPole n at 38, still farming, with wife Maria, 32, and a large family:Clinto n, 12, Emma, 10, Amos, 8, John, 5, Mary, 3, and Raleigh, 10months. Al so living there were Mary Van Gundy, 45, Maria's sister.Three doors do wn was the Samuel Van Gundy family.
