Uriah's parentage has not been verified but in 1830 a John Staub,40-50 y ears old, lived at Germany, Adams Co, PA, Rebecca's father?.On the pre vious page of the census was John Conrad, 40-50 years old,with another m ale aged 20-30 year old male, Uriah with brother? In1850 John Coonrod o f Tyrone, Adams Co, OH, had a 12 year old sonnamed Uriah, named for Un cle Uriah?. The Staub genealogy says thefamily moved from Adams Co to M aryland, then to Seneca Co, OH.

"The Rock Creek Saw-mill was erected in 1826 by Josiah Hedges, at thei ntersection of Circular road and East Market Street, on the site ofthe o ld mill. This was rented shortly after to Joseph Janey, and wassubsequ ently operated by Uriah P. Coonrad and Chris. Y. Pierson, fromAugust 3 , 1832, until its destruction by fire in 1833. "
1840 Tiffin, Seneca Co, OH. The census recorded his full name with ah ousehold consisting of: 2 males under 5 years of age, Uriah at20-30, a nd his wife, also 20-30. Down the road lived Jacob Staub,probably Reb ecca's nephew as her brother was in the same township.Uriah was the on ly Coonrod in the county.
1842 Uriah P Coonrod was elected as County Sheriff.

"Uriah P. Coonrad, one of the pioneers of Tiffin, moved the first oldj ail to the site of the woolen-mill, and made his home there for manyye ars. In 1864 he removed to Hopewell township, and died there in1879. T his old settler's name occurs often in the organic andpolitical chapte rs, and in the history of Tiffin and HopewellTownships. S. A. Coonrad , his son, has served as clerk of HopewellTownship, and is now a resid ent of Tiffin "

Rebecca was 33 andthey had s everal children: Edward L, 12; Francis A, 10, (male); VanCleve, 12; R io D, 6; Fidelious, 4; Sevanius A, 2; and Merry N, 5months. Also livi ng there was 18 year old Mary Shetts, relationshipunstated. Next door w as Merry Staub, 64, Rebecca's mother.

8/2/1860 Tiffin, Seneca Co, OH. The census taker recorded him asW.P, 5 0, but without occupation or property. Wife Rebecca, 44, had$1500/50 w orth of property though. Children in the house were sonsVanclev, 18, c lerk; R.D., 16; Fibiuls, 15; and Sevenus A, 11;daughters Mary, 10; and A lde, 5.
7/8/1870 Hopewell, Seneca Co, OH. That year at census time U.P. 60,w as a wealthy farmer with property valued at $6000/1200. Rebecca was54 , children still at home were Sylvanus, 21, Mary, 18, and Alta, 17.
According to NJ tax lists, the only Coonrod there in 1811 when Uriahwa s born, was Francis, living in Randolph Twp, Morris Co. He wasthere f rom 1806-1818.
