Rebecca’s parents were Peter Stricklett, born 1806 in Kentucky, andElizabeth “Betsy” Ann Ginn, born 1814 in Kentucky. Peter and Betsywere married on December 5, 1831. Betsy’s parents were William andSara (Thoroughman) Ginn who were married on January 13, 1800 in MasonCounty, Kentucky. (Note: Lewis County was created out of Mason Countyin 1806). For more information on Betsy, William, Sara, and others,see the Stricklett section in the Appendix. . According to LewisCounty records, Peter Stricklett was listed as being “old andinfirmed” and was therefore released from paying county taxes.
