2 Mar 1768. Deed. Rhoads Shankland esqr high sheriff of Sussex Countyc onveyed to Andrew McIlvain of the same county yeoman 2 tracts ofland i n Indian River Hundred 300 acres south side of Braceys Branchwhich lan d was left by the wills of James McIlvain and FrancesMcIlvain unto the ir son James McIlvain, and whereas Comfort Paynterrecovered a judgemen t against James McIlvain of same county for 18pounds 2 shillings 2 pen ce, by virtue of a writ the sheriff seized inexecution the tract of la nd, a valuation made by Thomas Robinson,Senior, together with the exec ution of Joseph Warrington and SarahWarrington who say it is sufficien t to discharge the said executionin 7 years, and the sheriff sold the s ame unto Andrew McIlvain for130 pounds 3 shillings he being the highes t bidder. Witnesses: ThomasGray, Joseph Shankland. Acknowledged 2 Mar 1 768.

On Jan. 12, 1784 James McIlvain, made a verbal will in the presence ofR obert and Sarah Prettyman in which he left what estate he shouldposses s to be equally divided between William McIlvain (son ofDavid); Willia m Water (son of Nelson); James Brereton (son of John).Executor, Robert P rettyman.
