JOHN HENRY WINGERT was born in Pine Grove, Schuylkill county,Pennsylva nia, December 3, 1852. His father, Jeremiah Wingert, was anative of Pe rry comity, Pennsylvania, and married Hester, daughter ofJohn Van Gund y, of Union county. In 1855 he removed to (that county,where he engage d in business as a farmer and nurseryman. He becameone of the prominen t farmers of that county. Politically he was aRepublican, and served i n various township offices. He was a memberof this Christian church. H e died in 1864; his widow still surviveshim, and is the wife of J. H. S eabold, of New Berlin, Pennsylvania.
