7/2/1860 Prairie City Pct, Majority Point, Cumberland Co, IL. Thecen sus listed both Thomas and Clarissa at age 36, born in NC. Thefamily c onsisted of Josiah, 17, George, 15, Julia A, 17, Thomas, 8,Henry, 6, L ewis, 2, and Elizabeth, 1. Thomas' occupation was farmerand his proper ty had grown to $600/300. His parents lived next door.
6/16/1880 Sumpter Twp, Cumberland Co, IL. The household was a jumbleo f people that year. Thomas was a 61 year old farmer, wife "Claracy"wa s 56, and living with them were nephew Wiley Elliott, 13, FrankMyers, 2 3, farmer, his wife Sarah, 20 (Thomas' daughter?), JoshuaElliott, boar der and student, son Louis, 22, farmer, his wifeMalinda, 19.
Some say he was born 5/11/1819 in SC but census records say NC.

Elliott Cemetery is family owned and operated. The land for thiscemete ry was donated by Mr. Thomas Elliott (1819, d. 1898), and hasbeen take n care by family members since. It sits on a high hill whichis very st eep and is surrounded by a hedge row. It is located about 4miles west o t Toledo, IL on Route 121. The cemetery is located inSpringpoint Twp., C umberland County, Illinois. I do have somephotographs of this cemetery ( mainly Elliott's). There is also aghost story about the cemetery liste d in a book about CumberlandCounties History/Pioneers.
