Funeral services were conducted August 22 at Smith's Home Chapel,Sunny side, Wash., for John Thomas Elliott, 68, formerly of Toledo.Rev. Herb ert Newton officiated and burial was in Sunnyside cemetery.Mr Elliott d ied in a veterans hospital at Vancouver, Wash., after
suffering a heart attack. He was born Aug. 15, 1894, a son of Joshuaan d Ann Hartman Elliott. He married Mamie Lough of Camargo. In 1923they m oved to Yakima Valley in Wa shington. He was employed by theBureau of R eclamation until his retirement i n 1955.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Woods, Kalispell ,M ont., and Mrs. Dorothy Myers, Arlington, Wash.; three brothers,William a nd Ira, Toledo, and Elmer, Townbridge; a sister, Mrs.Frances Helgerson , Neoga , and six grandchildren. John Elliott Succumb s to Long Illness
John Thomas Elliott, 68, of Sunnyside, died at the Vancouver VeteransH ospital Sunday, Aug. 19. Born in Toledo, Ill., Aug. 18, 1894, heattend ed grade school there. He did farm work until entering theservice in 1 918. Mr. Elliott married Mamie Lough May 22, 1919, andthey made their h ome in Carmargo, Ill., for three years then theymoved to the Lower Yak ima Valley in 1923 where he worked on a farmfor two years. In 1925 he s tarted work for the Bureau of Reclamationand worked for the government u ntil his retirement in 1955.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife; Mamie of Sunnyside, twodaughters, M rs. Violet Woods of Kalispell, Mont., and Mrs. DorothyMyers of Arling t on. Six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. FrancesHelgerson of Neoga, Ill ., three brothers, William and Ira of Toledo,Ill., and Elmer
of Neoga, Ill., are surviving also.
