Perry and Zella (Altman) homesteaded a farm across the bridge about amile from Haigler. this is where I lived with my brothers and sistersuntil I was 4 years old. My father's crops were ruined by a big hailstorm. also while he was driving a team of horses in the field, lightning struck and killed his horses and knocked him to the ground. My mom and older sister, Bernice brought him to the house. He was blueand unconscious. They put him in a tub of hot water, which saved hislife. After losing everything he owned we picked up and moved tophoenix, AZ.”
