Angel of death makes another call

One by one our loved ones fall.

Again has the angel of death laid his icy hand upon the brow of one oft he most beloved of our community and a young mother is summonedhence l eaving two small children, husband, sister, brothers and manywarm frie nds to mourn her departure.

Mettie A. Hall was born in Princeton, Mo., January 3, 1878. She camet o Colorado in 1898, making her home with her sister, Mrs. J. B.Morgan, i n San Luis Valley. On July 20th, 1904 she was married toRalph P. Rowa n at Lincoln, Neb., which was then the home of herparents. Returning t o Colorado she made her home in the San Luisvalley for a number of yea rs but for the past seven or eight years,has lived happily with her hu sband on a farm adjoining Arvada. Shewas the mother of two children, a b right little girl of four yearsand an infant aged two weeks.

Mrs. Rowan was one of a family of ten children, five of whom, haveprec eded her into the great beyond. The surviving members of thefamily ar e George W. and Roy J. Hall of Kansas City, Mo., Fred L.Hall of Lincol n, Neb., Carl Hall of Montrose, Colo., and Mrs. J. B.
Morgan of Saguache, Colo.

As she neared the end of the journey of life the relatives werenotifie d and the sister, Mrs. Morgan, and the brothers from Lincoln,Neb., and M ontrose, were able to reach her bedside before the end.

Mrs. Rowan had lived a beautiful Christian life. She had a kind andlo ving disposition and was loved by all who knew her. This writerhas kn own Mrs. Rowan and her family for a quarter of a century andcan consci entiously say that no truer and more faithful and lovingcharacter ever m ingled with earthly mortals. Since coming to Arvadashe has lived a qu iet
and retired life, devoting herself to her husband and child and butfew o f the community knew of her beautiful character.

The funeral was held on Tuesday at 11:30 from the Olinger undertakingp arlors, the service being conducted by Dr. Tyler, and the body wastend erly laid to its final rest in Crown Hill cemetery, followed by alarge c oncourse of mourning friends.

In their sad bereavement Mr. Rowan and the brothers and sister havethe h eartfelt sympathy of the whole community.
