Connie says " She was remembered by her grandchildren as "a fine shot"w hich enabled her to protect her crops, and "a Christian, beloved byall w ho knew her".
Her marker reads "Mary wife of J. Coy and W. Coonrod Died December 16,1 870 Aged 83 Years Our Mother," according to Connie Rice.
