"Woolery's first wife Hulda Partee died 9-20-1834(age 36). At anearlie r date a group of people were having a picnic on the banks ofthe Tiffi n river, or Bean Creek as it was known locally. She had laiddown in th e grass and said "that it was such a nice spot that shewould like to b e buried right there". When she died soon afterwardshe was buried in t he exact spot. It was the first burial in BuckCemetery, the oldest cem etery in what is now Springfield Twp,Williams Co, about 2 miles northw est of present day Evansport inDefiance Co.
