Beverly foung in the Revolutionary War: Captain, later Colonel,grante d 5,166 acres of land for bounty for 3 years service on theVirginia Li ne, 25 June 1783.
Entered service 10 Feb 1776 as an officer in the 6th Virginia Reg.Janu ary 1777 he was commisoned Lieutenant and served to June 1781 ,when he w as commisoned Captain and served as such to close of war ,at which tim e he was in the 2nd Virginia Reg.

1813 Christian Co, KY. Having moved back across the river, the TaxLi st recorded Beverly with 1 white male over 21, 6 blacks over 16 fora t otal of 11, 4 horses, and 800 acres on the Elk Fork of the RedRiver.
1819 Same place. At that tax time he was still the only white maleov er 21 but the number of blacks had increased to 37 with 20 of thembein g over 16. He also had 15 horses and 3 plots of land, all on thewest f ork of the Red River, consisting of 800 acres, 346.5 acres, and75 acre s.
1820 Todd Co, KY. The family probably never moved but instead, whent he new county was carved out of Christian Co, they found themselvesin t he new county.
A local history said Beverly "was another gentleman from Virginia. Hel ived and was buried on the Tarleton Averitt farm.
Beverly's will was written July 1, 1820 and probated Feb. 1824. Estatet o wife, Mary, and five youngest children, viz: John, Elizabeth,Maria, V irginia, Mary. There were three older children but only dau.Susan, wi fe of James Clark, was named. Ex: wife. Wit: William F.Gray, C.P. M cReynolds.
