Notes for Catherine BEVERLY


On 4/1741 Catherine was paid 75 pounds of tobacco for 3 daysattendance i n a court case, an unusal occurance for a woman of thatday.
The will book said Catherine was a widow of Spotsylvania Co. d. Apr.14 , 1777.

Her will, probated 1778, was witnessed by O. Towles, Mary Towles, andB everley Winslow. Executors were sons Harry and Robert Stubblefield;an d Oliver Towles.

It mentioned sons George, Harry and Beverley Stubblefield but ifBeverl y should died Robert was to have his share (Beverly must havebeen sick ly at the time); granddaughter Catherine Stubblefield,daughter of Robe rt Stubblefield; granddaughters Susanna, the daughterof George, and Ca therine the daughter of Robert Stubblefield.
