PETER SEERY. farmer; P. O. Poplar; is one of the substantial andwell-k nown citizens of this township, and is prominently identifiedwith her g rowing interests. He was born Oct. 5, 1818, in Ross Co.,Ohio, and is a s on of Solomon See ry Sr., whose sketch is givenelsewhere. He has alway s been a farmer, and, July 13, 1845. wasmarried to Margaret A., daught er of William and Rhoda Pennington. Shewas born Oct. 13, 1818, in Virg inia, and came here about the year1826. After marriage, Mr. Seery sett led on the farm on which he nowlives, the improvements consisting at t hat time of a cabin and a fewacres cleared. By years of patient and st eady labor, he has created aproductive farm, and many years ago their p rimitive house wasreplaced by one more commodious and elegant. His wif e departed thislife Nov. 3, 1873. She had borne five children- Mary F. , who died ininfancy; William H.; Willard W.; Rhoda M. and Phoebe J. T he sons aremarried. Both he and his wife united with the United Brethr en Churchbefore their marriage, and have devoted their lives to Christ ianity.He was identified with the Whig party in early life, and cast h isfirst vote for Gen. Harrison. He is at present a Republican.
