Ten in 1812 or 13 for six months,honorably discharged a t Kingston, Ten on the ____ day of ___ AD;married James Daily in Chest erville SC 8 Jan 1818 by John Boyd, JP.Maiden name Elizabeth Clinton; h usband died Elizabethton, Tenessee 24Jan 1835. Williams, drafted in Green County, Tennfor 6 months, rec eived honorable discharge. Age 20 at time ofenlistment, born in South C arolina, 6 feet high, black hair, blueeyes, complexion fair, occupatio n carpenter. Married 8 January 1818in Chester Dist., SC by John Boyd, J P. Before marriage was ElizabethClinton, neither married before. Husba nd died Elizabethton, CarterCo., TN 24 January 1834. They had lived si nce date of discharge inGreen Co., TN; Chester Dist., SC; and Elizabet hton, Carter Co., TN;she was now living Marion, Smyth Co., VA. A. M. D avis of Lynchburg,VA was attorney. S/S Elizabeth (her X mark) Daily.
Wits: James H. Frances age 51, W. C. Seaver age 55 of Marion, VA. Eachs tate have known Elizabeth Daily 30 years.

16 July 1878, Certificate of Pension [original number 29.136] issuedto E lizabeth Daily of Marion, Smyth Co., VA, widow of James Daily ofCapt. H ale’s Co., Service War of 1812, indicating James Daily died“January 25 th, 1834”.

22 March 1879, Smyth County, Virginia, Affidavit of Elizabeth Daily toJ ohn Iron, JP stating she is widow of James Daily, applicant forpension . James Daily was drafted in November 1813 in Militia fromGreen County , Tennessee under Capt. Joseph Hail discharged May 1814;confirmed in t his by statement of Samuel Mathery who was a messmateof her husband, w ho died 24 Jan 1834. S/S Elizabeth (her X mark)Daily.
Wits: Jane Darmon aged 48, Clementine Daily aged 57.

8 May 1879, Smyth County, Virginia, Elizabeth Dailey states is unablet o give Land Warrant Number received for husband’s services;believes fo r 160 acres, sold to J.M. ?Hoss/Hass of Jonesboro, TN. R.W. Jones was a ttorney who represented Land Warrant claim. S/SElizabeth [her X mark] D ailey
Wits: State have known Elizabeth Daily for 40 years. Clementine Dailya ge 56 years [b ca 1823]; Mary A. ?Parish aged 47/49 years. [NOTE bymlj : Mary A.’s writing looks like “Parish, though shaky;clerk’s writing l ooks like “Peevish/Parish”, though hurriedscrawl].


28 May, 1879, Elizabeth Daily inscribed on rolls of Knoxville Agencyat $ 8.00 per month. Two receipts on same page for 3 months’ pensiondue on C ert. No. 24419 from 4 March 1880 to 4 June 1880, PensionAgent at Knoxv ille, Tenn.

3 Sep 1881 [Date stamped received at Knoxville, Tenn by D.S. Boynton,P ension Agt] from U.S. Pension Agency stating Elizabeth Dailey waslast p aid $8.00 to 24 April, dropped because of death. “Paid SamuelB. Henrit ze on ‘R.O.’ from 4 Mch 1880 to 24 Apl 1880 $13.60”.
He was not among his mother's survivors.
