Oldbury. He retired from business and lived as a country gentlemansom e 15 miles from Bristol.
His will was dated 5/16/1634 and proved 10/31/1634. In it he left:
To my son Francis my white horse or nag.
To Spencer Achley, my daughter Frances's son, 20 shillings, to be paidb y my executrix within 6 months next after my decease.
To John Dawyes, the son of my daughter Margaret, 10 shillings, to bepa id in like manner.
To the 3 children of my son Francis, that is to say, Mary, hisdaughter , and Francis and Elijah, his sons, 30 shillings, to be paidin the lik e manner.
The rest of my goods, movable and unmovable whatsoever, I give andbequ eath to my daughter Elizabeth (except what I have passed by mydeed bea ring date 15 May, 1634, made to certain uses to HumfreyHooke, alderman o f the City of Bristol, Thomas Lloyd of the same,Adam Baynham, gent. an d William Maye of Cherefield gent. , thisexcepted) and I make my daugh ter Elizabeth my whole and soleexecutrix &c.
