8/16/1850 Same place, the part of the city north of State St.Accordin g to that census, Luther Haws was a 42 year old grave diggerwith real e state worth $800. Wife Anna F H was 38 and their childrenwere Isaac J H , 7, and Joseph L, 1. Living with the family was JasonHaws, 83 (Luthe r's father?), and Esther Brown, 43, relationshipunstated but she was b orn in NJ so was probably a sister.
6/19/1860 Still there. Family dynamics had changed by the nextcensus . Luther was recorded at age 54, a sexton with property valuedat $100 0/150. Wife Anna was gone but sons Isaac, 17, and Theadore,11, were t here as well as Jane McGuire, 30. (Jane may have been aniece, the dau ghter of James and Sarah Stark McGuire.)
