That census listedhi m as Frank, 43, with wife Jane, 40, and a large family consistingof Is aac, 23, James, 19 (should be Josiah), Elizabeth, 17, James, 14,Rachae l, 12, Henry, 10, and Thomas, 6. The occupation of Frank andthe older b oys was day laborer, Frank had only personal propertywhich was worth $ 125. Down the road were Daily, Floyd, and Porterfamilies, all relativ es.
8/11/1870 Okaw Twp, PO Okaw, Coles Co, IL. This was probably thesame p lace as the previous census. That year the census taker musthave misu nderstood as Frank was listed as Thomas, 55, still farmingwith propert y worth $200/150. Martha was 52 and still at home wereHenry, 16, mail c arrier; Thomas, 13, and James, 23. Josiah Daily wason the next page o f the census.
6/1/1880 Charlotte, Bates Co, MO. In that census Francis was a 65year o ld farmer, wife Martha was 62. Son Thomas, 23, was still athome worki ng on the farm. The families of son Henry and severalother McGuires w ere in the same county.
He probably was not born in AL because there is no evidence hisparents w ere ever there, but because some descendants say he was, anduntil furt her information is found, it will remain posted here assuch..
