5/1723 Spotsylvania Co, VA. The Virginia Councial and General Courti nvested certain lands in him in "fee tril."

10/5/1730. Spotsylvania Co, VA. From the deed book: " John Collier,J r. of Stratton Manor Parish,King and Queen County to RobertStubblefiel dof Saint Georges Parish, Spotsylvania County for theconsideration of t wo tracts of land in King and Queen County to thesaid Collier as by tw o deeds in King and Queen County bearing dateAugust 22, 1726. Said Col lier gives said Stubblefield 800 acres ofland in Saint Georges Parish, S potsylvania County granted by patentsto John Collier, Jr. June 30 .172 6."

10/16/1730 Again: "Robert Stubblefield of Spotsylvania County toJohn C ollier, Jr. of King and Queen County 65 pounds currency alsotwo tracts o f land in Spotsylvania County each containing 400 acresgranted to said C ollier by two Patents both dated June 30, 1726 saidStubblefield transf ers to said Collier 65 pounds currency and alsothe two tracts containi ng 400 acres each whereon said Stubblefieldnow lives."

10/1730, Robert mortgaged the land, which lay on branches on SouthRive r adjoing Henry Haynes, Robert Baylor and William Pruett. ToCollier fo r 365.

5/7/1734, Robert and Ann sold 200 acres of the land to BenjaminMatthew s for 4,090 ponds of tobacco land.

6/29/1734 And another: "Robert Stubblefield of Saint Georges Parish,S potsylvania County to Ralph Williams of Parish and County aforesaid250 0 pounds of tobacco and 200 acres in Spotsylvania County (firsttaken b y Nicholas Lanford and by him sold to John Collier,Jr. of Kingand Quee n Countyand by said Collier conveyed to said Stubblefield asby deeds O ctober 6, 1730) part of patent granted John Collier ,Jr.June 30, 1726, A nne wife of Robert Stubblefield acknowledges dower.

6/1735 Robert was ordered to lay off a road.

2/1737 He was appointed constable for the district from MataponiChurc h Bridge along the road by Pamunkey Creek.

11/1/1748 Robert and Ann sold their 400 acre plantation to RichardBa ylor for 100 and moved to Amelia Co, VA

1750 Amelia Co, VA was his residence at tax time.

9/1755 Robert Stubblefield and George Walton sued John, Richard andJ oel Stubblefield and Abraham Womack for trespass but did notprosecute t he suit.

Hogan's Creek, Orange Co, NC. Robert moved the family south.

1758 He bought 780 acres of land from William Wynn

3/1758 He requested permission to build a public grist mill on hisla nd.

1763 to 1769 He gave or sold land to sons Wyatt, Ricahrd and Thomasa nd son-in-law Abraham Womack.

7/31/1762. Robert sold 150 acres of land to son-in-law Abraham Womackf or 13.16. 3.

Abt 1763 he deeded 310 acres to son Wyatt.

Abt 1765 he deeded 150 acres to son Richard.

Abt 1769 he deeded 170 acres to son Thomas.

1770 Spotsylvania Co, VA. Robert was among the witnesses to the willa nd codicil of one Larkin Chew.

1774 His name was mentioned in the will of Thomas Dillard as havingso ld land to him at some prior date.

Stubblefield Plantation was a landmark on the 1777 map of Caswell Co,N C.
