His will, dated 10/1/1813, bequeathed only slaves to his heirs:
In the name of God, Amen. This the first day of October one thousandei ght hundred and thirteen, I, George Berry, of Mason County andState of K entucky, being of perfect mind and memory thanks be to Godfor such a m ercy and calling to mind: the mortality of my body andknowing that it i s appointed or all men to die, do make and ordainthis my last will and t estament.
First of all I recommend to God my soul, and my body at my death to Ih ope be buried in a descent manner at the discretion of WilliamBerry, G eorge Berry and Elijah Berry whom I appoint and ordain myExecutors and a s touching such wordly estate as it hath pleased Godto bless me with i n this life I give devise and dispose of the samein the following mann er.

Second I give and bequeath to my two grandchildren Bunbury and GeorgeW ashington Berry two negro boys named Nelson and Major together withone w oman named Lucky and her three children.
Third I give and bequeath to my son Elijah Berry three negro men namedJ arret, Frances and Joseph together with one boy named Abel.
