"On March 2, 1787, Edward Palmer bought 150 acres land where he builta p lantation. A portion of this plantation was left to his son JamesPalme r upon his death. When Davidson County was born from RowanCounty in th e 1800's, portions of this land became part of DavidsonCounty, North C arolina."
The web site of Ancestors of Bruce Ernest Spacks says this land was"on t he east side of Irish Second Creek between it and Walnut Creek.He move d there from Mansfield Township, Sussex County, New Jersey,with his wi fe, Hannah, and eight children....In August 1784, heannounced his inte ntion of moving to North Carolina..."
1790 Rowan Co, NC. At census time he was the only Palmer in thecount y. His house contained 3 males over 16, 1 under 16 and 3females. Son -in-law William Daily was also listed in that county butno Bowlbys.
1800 Salisbury Twp, Rowan Co, NC. Counted in that census were EdmondPa lmer, over 45, and 1 female over 45. In that same area weredaughter R uhanna and Abraham Pipinger and sons James, Philip, andJohn.. Was the N icholas "Boleboh" living in Salisbury, a Bowlbyrelative of Hannah's?

In the Name of God amen I Edmond Palmer of Rowan County and State ofNo rth Carolina being in good health of body and of perfect mind andmemor y, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing thatit is a ppointed unto all men once to Die do constitute this my lastwill and T estament principally and first of all I give and recommendmy soul into t he hand of Almighty God who gave it my body to beDecently intered at t he Discretion of my Executors nothing Doubtingbut at the General Resur ection I shall Receive the same a gane by themighty power of God and a s touching such Wordly Estate as it hasPlesed God to bless me in this l ife which I give Devise and Disposeof in the following manner and form t hat is to say --
