1840 Scott Co, IN. At census time he lived 3 doors from newlywidowed d aughter Elizabeth Daily. Josiah was 40-50 years old and hadliving wit h him 1 male aged 10-15, 2 at 15-20, 1 female under 5, 1 at5-10, 1 was 1 0-15, and 1 also 40-50, probably his wife.
8/7/1850 Vienna Twp, Scott Co, IN. Josiah was listed by the censusta ker at age 57, Polly was 55 and they had 2 children in the house,James , 30, and Eliza C, 14. Josiah was a farmer with real estatevalued at $ 1000. Next door was son Josiah and family.
Another descendant said the 1850 census taker recorded Nancy andJosia h Daily, children of John and Betsy Maguire Daily, as livingwith Josia h in New Albany, Floyd Co, IN but in view of the previousitem, that co uld not be correct.
