Granddaughter Diana Bennett said "He joined Wild Bill's Wild WestShow. H e knew Annie Oakley, Buffalo Bill, Sitting Bull and all theothers who w ere in the show. He traveled with them until they wentto Europe. He l eft the show then because he didn't want to leave theUnited States. ( Many years later he showed me some of the old playbills and constumes h e had hidden away. Grandma was so embarrasedfor having married a pers on who had belonged to the entertainmentbusiness.) He tried farming b ut wasn't very good at it. Theyfinally bought a hotel in Gilman, Wisc onsin and ran it until hisdeath. That was a success."

William, 59, married forthe f irst time at age 42, Agnes, 45, immigrated to the US in 1905 andwas na turalized. She had married at age 27. The family had grown toinclude I rvin, 12, Le Roy, 8, and Gorden, 2. William's occupationwas farmer.
