1/17/1780 Greenbrier Co, WVA. His land, being adjoining to the 250ac res to be assigned to Moses Turpin, was used as a marker.

6/15/1782 Greenbrier Co, VA/W VA. George received 1000 acres on theS econd Creek at the Gap

That same day "George Conrod, assignee of Jacob Rife, who was assigneeo f Samuel Wish, enteres 400 acres of land, by virtue of a certificatefr om the Commissioners, etc., in 2nd Creek Gap, to include the milland i mprovement."

And again: "George Conrod, assignee of Jacob Rife, who was assignee ofJ ames Patterson, enters 200 acres of land by virtue of a certificatefro m Commissioners, etc., adjoining the mill place in 2nd Gap.(Marginal n ote reads 'Removed.' Another marginal note was placed insuch a way th at it might mean this entry, or one of the twopreceding: 'This plat re turned and not carried into effect. Returned16th Feb 1808.'"

10/16/1782 Jacob Riffe brought suit against George (details notspecif ied but probably involved above land deal) but according toEarly Cour t Minutes, the case was dismissed.

1783 Greenbrier Co, Va, George was taxed 1 tithe for 5 negroes, 6hors es, & 14 cows.
