Anthony Zumwalt, Infant orphan of Jacob Zumwalt, deceased, over theage o f 14 years, this date came into court and made choice of LewisCrow as h is guardian; therefore, it is considered and ordered by thecourt that t he said Lewis Crow be appointed guardian for the saidAnthony Zumwalt, a nd also for Frederick Zumwalt, another of theinfant heirs of the said J acob Zumwalt, deceased, under the age of 14years; therefore the said L ewis Crow came into court and executedbond at the penalty of $ 150. wi th Isaac Zumwalt his security,condition as the law directs.

10/3/1850 Dist 12, Calloway Co, MO. At census time Frederick Zumalt,3 3, was counted with the family of widow Nancy Dorton who had a goodsiz ed estate. Frederick was a farmer but had no real estate so mostlikel y worked for Nancy.
8/6/1860 Cedar Twp, PO Hybernia, Calloway Co, MO. That census takerl isted him as Fred Zumalt, 45, farmer, with only $60 in real estate,no p ersonal property. His family included Mary, 30, Geo W, 7, BosbyR, 5, N ancy, 3, and Robt W, 3 mo. In the same township was a familyunder Mar y Zumwalt, 50, and another under Andrew Zumwalt, 33.
8/10/1870 Same place, PO New Bloomfield. Recorded there were FredricZ umwalt, 54, farmer with property valued at $300/250. Wife Mary was44, t heir children were: George W, 16, Bosman R, 14, Robert W, 10,Albert H , 7, Mattie B, 5, and Mary J, 2.
6/5/1880 Cedar Twp, Boone Co, MO Listed in that census were FredZumw alt, 63, with Mary, 52, Bosmon R, 24, Nancy C, 22, Robt W, 20,Albert, 1 7, Mattie B, 14, and Mary J, 12. Fred was a farmer, theboys were farm h ands. They lived in a row of Nichols families with aForbis just down t he road..
COLUMBIA MISSOURI HERALD July 31, 1896 under Ashland news page 5,colum n 4:
"Frederick Zumwalt died at his home one mile east of Ashland on the27t h inst., aged 78 years. His remains were interred at New LibertyCemet ery."
Ashland Bugle:
"Another pioneer citizen is gone. This time we are called upon toreco rd the death of Frederick Zumwalt, aged 78 years, who died at hishome o ne mile east of Ashland at 11 p.m., Monday, July 27, 1896,after a ling ering illness. The funeral conducted by Elder IraTurner, was held at N ew Liberty Church at 1 o'clock Tuesday morning.Deceased leaves a wife a nd six children-four sons, George, Bosman,Albert and Robert, and two d aughters-Mrs. F.G. Forbis and Miss MollieZumwalt."
