1/4/1829 Gonzales Co, TX. Local history says Samuel, a single man,ar rived on that date.
Local history said the land granted to him was "further south (of hisb rothers and father) on the east bank (of the Gonzales River) incurrent D eWitt Co."
7/9/1831 "According to land records...he received his one-fourthleagu e of land on the east bank of the Guadalup River just north ofcurrent H ochheim."
12/28/1833 Samuel also bought four lots in the inner town ofGonzales: B lock 7, Lots 4 and 5.
9/28/1835 He bought two outer town lots, Tier 1, Lots 15 and 16 easto f Water Street.
Samuel died intestate. At the time he had three-fourths league ofland s ituated onthe waters of Peach Creek in Gonzales Co and two lotseast of W ater St on East Ave in the outer Town of Gonzales.
His widow asked her father to apply for guardianship of the twochildre n, which he did and bond was granted.
On 4/30/1841 Mahala's second husband, Henry Crawford applied forguardi anship which was granted 9/29/1841, releasing Adam Zumwalt fromhis gua rdianship.
Following Mahala's death brother-in-law Eli Mitchell petitioned forgua rdianship of the McCoy heirs and bond was granted 5/16/1845 but in5/18 53 Eli had to sue Henry Crawford to gain control of the SamuelMcCoy es tate.
Eli resigned his guardianship 12/27/1853 in favor of Robert J Carr,Cal dwell Co, TX and husband of Hester Ann McCoy.
On 12/28/1853 Henry Crawford, as guardian of his son, Felix, andRobert C arr, as guardian for his wife, Hester Ann, and Adam Z McCoy,petitioned t he court for the partition and distribution of the McCoyestate.
2/27/1855 A public auction was held at which the the two lots inouter T own of Gonzales were sold to Eli Mitchell for $315.50.
The three-fourths leage of land was divided: 1366 acres to Hester AnnC arr, 1366 acres to Adam McCoy, 765 acres to Felix Crawford.
