LDS records have a duplicate family which mirrors John and Mary'sexact ly but the dates are much earlier, making them too old forsucceeding g enerations.
VA estate records used as documentation for John's death date asabout 1 695 must belong to another man by the same name, perhaps anuncle. DAR r ecords use the same date. LDS records have his marriagedate as 1695 a nd all the children were born later, the more plausibleinterpretation.
John's will was dated 3/22/1750 and recorded 7/2/1761. It named his 7c hildren, wife Mary, and grandson William Whitley and son Nathan asExec utor. Witnesses were Robert and William Edwards.
