From Deed Book 2, page 32, dated February 8, 1705:
"This Indenture between John Whitley of Newport Parish, weaver, andTho mas Whitley, planter, 'The said land being conveyed in an escheatpaten t granted unto John Wheatley, deceased, father of ye aforesaidJohn Whi tley, deceased, ye fourth day of September one thousand sixhundred and s eventy. Which said land did descend unto ye said JohnWheatley as heir- at-law to ye aforesaid John Wheatley.'"
In a deposition dated 12/9/1698 he said he was 40 years old.
