MATTOON - Peggy Jo Lahey Whitley Raboin, 64, of rural Mattoon, passeda way peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 2:35 a.m. onFriday, J une 19, 2009, at her residence. Funeral Mass celebrating herlife will b egin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at ImmaculateConception Roman Ca tholic Church, 320 North 21st Street in Mattoonwith Father Dennis Koll ross celebrating. Burial will be at a laterdate in the Dodge Grove Cem etery, Mattoon. Visitation for family andfriends will be held from 10: 30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Monday at theSchilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston A venue in Mattoon. Peggy wasborn July 26, 1944, in Mattoon, a daughter o f Joseph John and JuanitaCatherine "Peg" (Bowen) Lahey. She married Br adley Robertson Whitleyon June 1, 1963 and he passed away December 24, 1 979. She was alsopreceded in death by her parents. Peggy married Roger " Bud" Raboin onJune 2, 1989. Survivors include her husband, Roger "Bud" R aboin ofrural Mattoon; her children, Shelli Nolte and husband Keith of Mattoon, Abby Pierce and husband Rob of Mattoon, Andrea Blakeman andfia nce Doug Lascody of Sherman, IL, Jeff Raboin and wife Shady ofMattoon, R obin Lipka and husband Kevin of Charleston, Pam Raboin andfriend Kevin W etzel of Mattoon, C. J. Raboin and wife Leslie ofMattoon; grandchildre n, Allyson Scheer and husband Matthew ofPaducah, Ky, Dack Nolte, Kord N olte, Alex Buckler, John JosephPoorman, and Avery Pierce, all of Matto on, Dalton Blakeman and DaneBlakeman, both of Sherman, IL, Samantha Ra boin and Matthew Raboin,both of Mesa, Arizona, Jack Raboin of Mattoon, A ustin Raboin ofSullivan, IL, Brooke Hustmeyer, Blake Raboin, Alec Rabo in, all ofMattoon; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Buckler and Olivia R aboin;and nieces, Jodi Trotter, Teri Whitley, and Sheri Flood. Mrs. Ra boinwas a 1962 graduate of Mattoon High School and attended Lake Land College. She was formerly employed with Illinois Consolidated TelephoneC ompany and Neil Armstrong Center in Mattoon. She was a member of andpa rticipated in numerous clubs and organizations over the years,includin g Special Olympics Family Fun Festival and Illinois SpecialOlympics. H er family was her life. Peggy enjoyed gardening, tennis,travel, readin g and attending her grandchildren's events.
